Zombie Kickball

Zombie fans who are NOT going to be in Chicago to visit us this weekend at Flashback Weekend but are in the Portland Maine area should definitely check out the annual Zombie Kickball event. If combining the words “zombie” and “kickball” doesn’t do it for you, I don’t know what will.

NYC Zombie Pub Crawl this weekend

NYC Zombie Crawl

For most of us it’s a long weekend, and if you’re a New Yorker, it could mean a long weekend of drinking with some of your zombie pals. A semi-regular event, the NYC Zombie Crawl is taking place this Sunday, May 25th in Brooklyn. Things kick off at Duff’s Bar, then move to Passout Records, and finally the night ends with a “Zombie Sideshow”.

Now, I know many of our readers live in the NYC area based on the free stickers we’ve sent out, so if you’re in the area check it out and send us some pictures!

Zombie Walk Detroit - May 31st 2008

Zombie Walk Detroit will be once again hosting a Zombie Walk, this time in Greek Town, Detroit.

Last year, the Zombie Reporting Center showed up and created a little video which you can view here. The ZWD staff does an EXCELLENT job coordinating these events so it is not to be missed! It also happens to fall on same day as the Red Bull Air Race so hopefully we’ll see some out of town zombies as well!

Zombie March Chicago

In you live in or around the Chicago area, make sure you leave June 21st open, because it’s the first ever Zombie March Chicago! From their MySpace:

The more people the better, so invite your friends too. Invite the people you hang out with and help us break the record of 1,200 zombies! …Oh wait, we already have! On our Facebook’s group page, we have over 1,500 zombies going to show up, and the event is still months away. Be part of the biggest and first zombie walk in Chicago. If this goes well, there will be more to follow.

If they can actually have 1,500 zombies show up, that would be awesome, but only time will tell. Good luck Chicago!

Belleville Zombie Walk In The Works

Belleville, Ontario, is hosting it’s first ever Zombie Walk on Saturday, March 29. For more information, check here. Kyle Boutilier, one of it’s coordinator’s told the Belleville Intelligencer:

“…no one will be turned away” and they are hoping for a wide demographic of participants. Currently, a large number of those who have confirmed their attendance are high school students but both Savage and Boutilier are encouraging anyone who is interested in doing the walk to show up.

“It’s just about coming out and having fun,” he said. “We want people to come out, hang out with their friends and if it can become an annual event then that’s great. It’s also something different, it’s not something you see every day.”

Note: the picture used above is actually from a London Zombie Walk, since Belleville hasn’t had their’s yet.

Zombie Walk Watch: Dallas

Zombie Walk Watch

Zombie fans down in Dallas recently got together to celebrate Night of the Living Dead’s 40th anniversary and the opening of this year’s Texas Frightmare Weekend. The parents over at Geek Parenting joined in as well and took their little ones out for their very first zombie walk. Pictures and video are available on their website, and this is the first time I’ve seen a group of zombie hunters show up at a zombie walk! It sure is nice to see people outside and having fun while we’re stuck in the single digits here Michigan.

UK Zombie Walk World Record Attempt Fails

Zombie Walk

A few weeks ago we reported a new world record zombie walk attempt in Wales. The event took place last week, and they missed the mark by about 845 people, which makes it officially “not even in the ball park”. But hey it’s all for charity and 280 zombies is still a LOT OF ZOMBIES!
