Could Rock of the Dead Be the Coolest Game Ever?

Game developer Epicenter has mixed together some of the best video game components of all time- rock music, zombies and…Neil Patrick Harris? Yes, all three comprise their upcoming game Rock of the Dead. Slay zombies while rocking out! Like Typing of the Dead, this game promises to give the player something a little different than just shooting zombies in the head. Left 4 Dead Blog Cracks Me Up

According to the Left 4 Dead blog, 28,981,249,043 zombies have been killed since the games release in November 2009. Here’s the breakdown from their post:

• The entire population of the planet has been zombified and killed 4.26 times.

• With the average height of a zombie being 6 feet, if you stacked them end to end they would circle the globe 1,322 times.

• If you placed 28,981,249,043 rulers end to end, they would reach 28,981,249,043 feet in the sky.

More Dead Rising news out of Capcom this week – this time a trailer from an upcoming Japanese small screen adaptation of the Dead Rising video game. Although the quality looks poor, it appears to be an actual Capcom-approved movie and not a fan film. The best part, however, must be seen to be believed. You’ll have to watch the trailer below to find out for yourself, but I’ll give you this teaser – it involves chainsaws and wheelchairs.

Sure a chainsaw seems like a good zombie-slaying tool, but wouldn’t be nice to put a little space between you and the undead? If combining weapons together tickles your zombie fighting fancy, you wouldn’t be alone. And according to the above screenshot from the Capcom Unity blog, you’ll be able to do it in the upcoming Dead Rising 2 video game.

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition and DLC

Capcom announced the upcoming release of Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition for XBox 360 and PS3. The gold edition contains the original game, all downloadable content, and two brand new episodes (Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape) to play. Already own Resident Evil 5? Don’t worry, the new content will also be available as a download. Resident Evil: Gold Edition will be released March 9th, 2010.
