The Living Dead At Manchester Morgue 2-Disc Special Edition DVD Out Today!

The Blue Underground 2-Disc Special Edition of The Living Dead At Manchester Morgue, comes out today! This was released last year from Blue Underground under the title Let Sleeping Corpses Lie, with the same extra features that are on this version’s Disc 1, but didn’t include these new features on this edition’s Disc 2:

Disc 1 Extras:

International Trailer

U.S. Trailer

TV Spot

Radio Spots

Poster & Still Gallery

Disc 2 Extras:

Back to the Morgue – Interview with Director Jorge Grau

Zombie Fighter – Interview with Star Ray Lovelock

Zombie Maker – Interview with Special Effects Artist Giannetto De Rossi

2000 Interview with Director Jorge Grau

It’s also been fully restored with a new high-def transfer. Aside from Let Sleeping Corpses Lie and Zombi 3, this film has a history of having multiple, multiple titles, including my favorites Breakfast at the Manchester Morgue and Don’t Open the Window. The breakfast title is horribly funny, and do I even need to explain the humor that lies within the DON’T! title?

Look at this goofy business!

I was looking at the cover art for the movie The Veil, seen below.

the veil

The zombie closest to the gas mask seemed familiar to me. I thought I had seen it somewhere before, but thought that I was most likely mistaken. So I searched “halloween zombie costume”, just to prove myself wrong and found this pic:

Which I recognized from seeing it in Halloween stores in October from this packaging:

How fuckin’ goofy is it to be getting your clip art from crappy Halloween USA packaging for your sweet zombie movie cover art? That’s gotta be embarrassing!

ZRC reported last month on the release of The Veil on DVD on January 8th. YouTube has a trailer for the DVD that looks pretty sweet, despite this packaging snafu. I know I’m looking forward to checking it out.

Are you ready for the Zombie Apocalypse?

Cheeseburger in a can

Not if you don’t have pantry full of these puppies! That’s right, they’ve finally done it! A German company called Trekking Mahlzeiten has found a way to preserve the American way even through the zombie apocalypse by creating the cheeseburger in a can! To prepare, just boil the can in some water, pull it out, pull up on the easy pop-top lid ring and chow down, wide load! Because you know when the world goes to shit, you’re going to want a cheeseburger like a zombie wants brains. Now you CAN has cheezburger!

The Post-Apocalyptic Workout

On strike WGA TV writer Nina Bargiel, aka the Slackmistress , has started the Post-Apocalyptic Workout, to better her chances of surviving a zombie outbreak (and apparently kill time while on strike). Watch her introduction video here. Here is the list of skills to learn/ things to do, so that Bargiel can better her chance at surviving a zombie massacre:

  • get leaner (disencourage cannibalism)
  • get stronger
  • do a pull-up/lift bodyweight
  • get faster (outrun zombies)
  • be able to run with a Daisy the Wonderdog strapped to me
  • figure out way to strap Daisy the Wonderdog to me
  • basic first aid
  • advanced first aid
  • CPR (adult, child & infant)
  • be prepared (stock emergency supplies)
  • load & fire handgun
  • load & fire shotgun
  • basic construction
  • welding
  • cooking over campfire
  • rock climbing
  • basic mending & sewing
  • growing food
  • storing food
  • purchase bike
  • bike safety
  • woodchopping
  • sledgehammering
  • soapmaking
  • knifethrowing
  • orienteering
  • starting/building a fire sans matches
  • archery/crossbow skills
  • basic veterinary first aid
  • farm animal keeping/care
  • horseback riding

Watch her prepare for the oncoming zombie apocalypse, or train along side her and be more prepared yourself. This could end up being a good way to learn a new skill in the new year, or at least have a mild chuckle. The disencourage cannibalism by losing weight made me chuckle, a little. Worth checking out, to kill some time of your own.

Stupor Heroes Vs. Zombies

LXA

The League of Extraordinary Alcoholic Vs. The Horde of Really Creepy Undead Zombie Flesh Eaters is the extraordinarily long title of a “very low budget” independent film being made by Writer/Director Jeff Ebright in Dayton, OH. With 4 years of filming and counting. the movie seems to be filled with drinking humor and a cast of friends having a lot of fun. Their MySpace page (i.e. official website) is entertaining as is. Just the character names gave me a bit of a chuckle.

Having spent a year of my life living in the Gem City, I know there’s not much else to do but come up with crazy shit like this. It’s nice to see someone coming as far as these people have, in that town, with this kinda wacky idea.
