Last October, Erik confirmed that we’d be seeing Zombies!!! on a variety of gaming platforms some time in 2009.

Well, we’ve hit a little bump in the road for the development of the video game adaptation of popular board game. The original developer, Big Rooster, seems to have dropped from the face of the earth completely. The creator of the board game, Twilight Creations, is currently looking for a new developer to bring this game to the video gaming world.

I’ll keep you updated as to how this affects the release schedule.

You may have heard about the Best Buy in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, that’s planning a zombie infestation inside the store for the release of Resident Evil 5 on March 13. They’re going to fill the store with zombies, quarantining areas off and even featuring a haunted house. Hired actors will portray scientists and doctors, and some “big scare” will wrap the festivities up.

But they’ve decided to take it further, now enlisting the help of the U.S. Army and their M16′s. And reports have come in about real chainsaws and spraying blood.

Getting to this particular store would mean a 5- or 6-hour journey for me. But zombies, M16′s, chainsaws, and spraying blood . . . it may very well be worth it!

More good news has surfaced for those of us who are Wii-owning zombie fans. Dead Space, currently only available for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, will released for the Nintendo Wii.

There aren’t many details available yet, but IGN claims that it will preserve the best elements of the game, and take advantage of the full potential of the Wii remote.

I played this on the PS3, and the graphics blew me away. It’s hard to believe that the Wii will be able to compare graphically. But there’s a whole lot more going for the game than just the look — the action, atmosphere, and scares. So maybe the Wii’s inferior graphics won’t matter.

Have you ever wanted to turn your Barbie doll into a “Zombie Barbie”? Well then Norway’s Paranaiv.no tells you how to do it. Sure, this seems like a no-brainer, but I thought the bit with the skull was at least somewhat “crafty”.

From Joystiq comes a VERY STRONG rumor that the board game Zombies!!! will become to the XBox Live Arcade. The platform should be perfect for the game which requires a VERY LARGE table in order to layout the tiles for the game properly, and the addition of online play with strangers saves you the task of having real-life friends. No word on a release date yet.
