This Sunday the staff of the ZRC will be at Zombie Walk Detroit in support of World Zombie Day and several area food banks. We’ll be out filming the walk so make you stop by and say hi!
Zombies the world ’round will join forces and stagger through their local streets with one goal in mind: to fight world hunger!
Zombie Walk Detroit is hosting a walk in downtown Ferndale. It’s a food & fund drive to benefit Gleaners Food Bank and Ferndale’s own (3) food banks!
WHEN: Sunday, October 26th – Registration is at 3PM
Why register? EVERY zombie must sign in because this is going into the Guinness Book of World Records. Not our walk alone, but a total count of all zombies around the world who walk in solidarity on this day.
So whether there are 5 or 45 zombies in any given city- RISE and be counted!
WHERE: Meet at the parking lot just NORTH of 9 Mile (behind 9 mile businesses) just WEST of Woodward.
HOW: Whether you’re walking or not, please bring a few cans of food to the walk. More if you’re able! Spectators (at least the ones who know in advance) and photographers, you too, please! Food, funds, or both. Thanks!
WALKERS: Print out a PLEDGE SHEET by clicking here to open it as a PDF. Simply ask friends, family and co-workers to help feed hungry families in Michigan by sponsoring your walk. We’ve made it easy for you by including that info right on the pledge form. We’re good like that.
They can pledge a total of $5, $10… even $5,000. Whatever amount they’d like. Every penny goes to the food banks.
Cash is fine, but any checks should be made payable to Gleaners.
All monetary donations are tax deductible.
We very respectfully request that any zombies who do not succeed in bringing in pledges, donate food and/or funds themselves. Let’s make Gleaners proud!
We’ll also be at the Ann Arbor Zombie Walk, starting at 6PM. Here’s the info:
The Diag in Ann Arbor at 6pm.
S. University St. next to Cafe Royale.
Show up early for registration.
EVERY zombie must register for walk so entries can be submited to Guinness World Book of Records.
Donations can be given in non-perishable food or money. All checks are to be written out to Food Gatherer’s food bank.
Food Gatherer’s will be there for all donation pick-ups.
