Trailer Park of Terror: Zombie Movie or Not?

Where do we draw the line on what is and what is not a zombie movie? We just can’t decide on our own, so every other Tuesday we’ll post a new movie to be debated by, you, our readers and ask the question: Zombie Movie Or Not? On the following Monday we’ll post our findings. The week should give you enough time to rent the movie if need be or you desire.

What every reader must keep in mind is that there are two basic types of zombie that every zombie movie based off of – the Voodoo Zombie and the Romero Zombie. The Voodoo Zombie, while not always raised by Voodoo necessarily, is basically a person, either undead or entranced, that is controlled by a person or entity for the purpose of completing tasks, often killing. Romero Zombies are basically mindless, flesh-eating undead whose bite will turn victims into zombies. Now, not all movies adhere to all of these rules, but if the basics are there, you got a zombie movie.

This weeks debate is over Trailer Park of Terror (2008) Starring Nichole Hiltz (TV’s In Plain Sight & The Riches) and country singer turned actor Trace Adkins.

IS: It’s a trailer park full of undead that kill people. Sounds like a zombie movie to me.

IS NOT: No, it’s a trailer park full of ghosts and other non-zombie characters lurking around killing people, not for hunger or anything else zombie like, but just because they’re assholes.

Now it’s up to you, reader. What do you think? Trailer Park of Terror: Zombie Movie Or Not?

    NO NO NO

Is a clear indie re-invisioning of Herschell Gordon Lewis’ 2000 Maniacs as the characters admit in the first reel. These are ghoulie ghosts and not zombies, but that fat lady who craves meat is a TOUCH zombie. Still NOT zombie.

    (really happy ZMON is back)

I agree with everyone so far. This is NOT a zombie movie but some kind of Ghoul/Ghost “killers” type creation. I was also not particularly fond of the movie as well.
