I don’t know how I feel about this movie. I have a middle school crush on the book and would love to see this epic story on the big screen. I’m also afraid the “hollywood” could ruin another great story. What do you guys think?

A bad movie could never ruin a great book. I say bring it on.
Can’t wait to see the story about the Japanese computer geek in the apartment building!
It was a great book, but I’m afraid that a standard film would not be able to contain everything that is in the book. This would have to be a saga of sorts to be able to tell all the stories. But no matter the outcome I will still go see it and I will be entertained regardless if they follow the book or not.
Also, Brooks signed my copy of World War Z with “you are one sick bastard”, gotta love him!
It’s certainly possible that the movie will be a disappointment. But it’s got a great screenwriter, and folks have said that leaked copies of the script look great. I think it’s okay to hope for something awesome here.
I’m faithful that this movie will be a success, but not fantastic. I just really want them to include the parts about the insane folks who try to act like the zombguys and get themselves eaten as well as the parts that Undead Picasso noted on.
Awesome art btw.
That picture makes me happy. The book was great! The Audio Book was great too! I’m stoked for the movie and I’m sure it will still please. You can never compare movies to their books as it never works out the way people expect it should.
That painting is Amazing! I had no idea that World War Z was going to Hollywood. Man… I’m with you, I have mixed feelings.
They better not f this up.
Hollywood is starting to treat genre with a little more respect again (Wolverine aside) so this has the potential to be an awesome flick. Hopefully it doesn’t turn into a wall to wall special effects Paul Vernhoven extravaganza. A HBO mini series would have been my preference but you can’t always get what you want. We’ll always have the book if the movie turns out to be horrible but the concept art looks great.
Just finished the book and I’m super exited about the movie. I agree with DBJ, an HBO mini series ala Band of Brothers would have best, that way we can see 1 hour episodes on all stories. would have love to the see the swarm of Z’s walking on the ocean floor, or the battle in Yonkers fully come to life.
I think the book is great, and would really lend itself to a mini-series like Cesar said. If they made a movie, they would probably have to cut out some people, like the Australian astronaut or the radio guy, which don’t really contribute to the overall plot, but exist only to cover every aspect of the War.
