Dead & Buried DVD Review

Dead & Buried

Dead & Buried is the story of the quaint little town of Potter’s Bluff, a town that looks like time forgot. Yet the Sheriff there has a problem, murder is on the rise. Someone’s been killing out-of-towners and doing a half-assed job of making it look like an accident. What’s more, townsfolk are seeing the victims walking around town. With the help of a local doctor and the town mortician, Sheriff Gillis is trying to solve this mystery that’s more baffling the more answers he gets.

Dead & Buried doesn’t have as much call for gore as your typical zombie movie, because it’s not your typical zombie movie. The zombies in Dead & Buried aren’t of the flesh eating corpse variety, more of the voodoo variety, yet still undead. While not gory, it does have top-notch special effects.

The Cast of Dead & Buried is full of faces that you’d recognize, yet not quite have names for, but the acting is superb and dramatic. Most of you might recognize one of the screen writers, Mr. Dan O’Bannon of Return Of The Living Dead fame.

Dead & Buried is an enjoyable and entertaining film. I can’t believe it hasn’t achieved more of a popular status as it plays out like an episode of The Twilight Zone. I’d recommend this film to anyone with an affinity for horror, mystery or just good old popcorn eatin’ movies. Check it out.
