I am ready for the zombies to come. With 11,000 rounds of ammo and five guns to accommodate, I’ll take the three year supply of canned food and water that I have stored away in my basement(which is constantly replentished), load it into my Box Truck and head to the Wal-Mart in South Point Ohio. I know that the idea of going to a superstore like Walmart or Meijer type store is overdone, but not in this scenario. A Sams club is right next door to it. Literally close enough to jump from roof to roof. Once I get there I’d probably switch to melee weapon as I have two swords and a spear. Use the spear to fend them off until they get in larger quantities then switch to a handgun, probably my glock which is waiting with twenty three clips already filled. Barricading both buildings would be easy as the loading doors are all at least fifteen feet off the ground and reinforced steel. The only thing to worry about really is the shopping cart slot at Walmart which can easily be filled in. Already waiting in my box truck is a welding kit which I’d use to take apart shopping carts and further barricade both buildings. Once I’m sure both buildings are secure I would create a bridge with the materials avaliable in the stores as well as a pully system and ladder setup for access to both stores from the roof. Then I would begin building defenses in case of looters and the like. Such defenses wouldn’t work against the zombies, but wounding the looters and such is good enough to drop em. I would probably only bring the people that I was with at the time, most likely my good friends and girlfriend. Some of them know that once the zombie apocalypse comes that they need to find me so some people might show up while I’m loading the truck. Not to mention that I’m from West Virginia and there is more privately own ammunition in West Virginia than in the US military. The rednecks around here would most likely do like was shown in Dawn of the Dead (1978) or Night of the Living Dead (1990) where they all get drunk and march side by side through the area pumping rounds into all of the zombies. I’d restart society here, but after it got up and running I think I’d head out on foot with my sword, spear, glock, and enough ammo to hold me for a little while as I walked from place to place slaying the undead and setting up other societies till I moved on again. Granted this is based on the zombie apocalypse beginning while I’m at home. I do, however, have a different zombie plan for each situation or location thats been brought to my attention so far.
Assuming im currently experiencing a zombie outbreak
Let’s suppose that I made it through the first 10 minutes,
which be a guarantee because im a Zomboligists.
Its like buying a handfull of lotto tickets instead of just one.
While most of my town is turning into the undead and looking for live flesh to feast on,
And screaming in disbelief that would give me the perfect chance
Id have to think fast…
Id load my Box Bronco with all food that i have stored for this
situation..
(that would be at least a two year supply of freeze dried food)
Not to mention cases of ammo that was stackin up in the garage!
Cuz down here in Texas…we are hunters!
Id mentally go over the facts that i already know from my studies.
Fact 1: Zombies have elevated strength.
Fact 2: The undead tend to move to the last spot they
saw a living human.
Fact 3: Zombies can only be destroyed by massive head trauma, such as a
gun shot or bludgeon to the head.
The first decison would be Run or hide?
This is a no-brainer, I mean, I gotta hole up somewhere, eventually! right? I would pick very carefully.
Let’s say that the outbreak is localized In ALief, Houston, but you know that the neighboring County is zombie-free.
ID flee to the zombie free town,To upgrade on any food accomidations, and ammo needed!
I know this sounds too obvious, but I can imagine most would sit around waiting for their old neighbor to brake down the door,
to bite em before excepting reality!.
So Id Get to the safe County, find a gun store, Increase all supplies!
At least by double the amount….!!
Id use the Buddy System
Id only take the family that was with me…My dad would be my cover as we make our way through the undead walking!
His military experience paying off!! We would use a double hatched and an ax to ward off any incoming zombies!
One thing for sure i wont be a dummy. If someone in my group is bitten, or exposed by a zombie,
I would cutt off his head with a hatchet,or shoot him in the head and get it over with.
The main thought in my head would be:
T-Shirts aren’t zombie bite Proof!!
Basball bats would be the weapon i chose last because it would mean tha i would
have to come close enough to the zombie to hit em and risk exposure of the blood!
Zombification occurs shortly after being exposed or bit by a zombie.
Which means If traveling with a group, And one is injured, ID KILL them without hesitation or thought!!
IF anyone in the group objects, KILL THEM TOO! Why keep naggers that will blow your hideaway?
This is one I’ve never figured out. And would probaly be what saves my life!
So I wonder why are people running around in t-shirts for days and weeks after Z-Day?
Get some freakin Protection !!!
Thick leather will work short term. Later on Id upgrade, to something else metallic ,
that should be applied to my clothes.
Even zombies can’t bite through that stuff,
so I wouldnt think Im “SAFE”.
My important areas Id protect would be my forearms, neck, and legs.
ID just make sure it’s flexible enough to give me some freedom to move, and light enough to run!.
Helmets are a big must too, but anything other than motorcycle helmets would look retarded,
I’d rather be a victim of the undead than a dork with a silver mop bucket on my head.
Let’s recap: Ive survived the initial few hours zombie invasion,
banded together with my family,
Eat any kinds of food I come across.
Because Food becomes scarce in a zombie invasion.
(its better to become undead with a full stomach)
Next id make base camp in a big box retail store with plenty
of food and goodies.
Id barricade all if any opening in the Retail store…
Id take refuge on the roof…puttin all supplies on the top,
and preparing tents for rest and cover from the sun!
Id make sure to destroy any way up to the roof, that way i cant be
caught offguard by any stray zombie.
Id lock the opening to the roof
That way no zombie could get in..but id leave it to where i could
get back down..
Long term suvival….
What happens next depends on a lot of things….
Are there any other survivors….?
If there are survivers then the laws of man no
longer apply to the everyday of life.
The laws of the jungle is in full effect.
That means you should screw over anyone you can.
(survival of the strongest)
(If you meet a stranger that has alot of spare bullets.SHOOT HIM…And take the bullets)
And keeping in mind when killin the undead to search their pockets, They contain useful items!!
I imagine submarines should be especially safe,
they can run way past anyones lifetime….
I figure some important people as the president posted up somewhere and Osama Bin Laden,
Thats a guarantee….
Maybe enough people survived somewhere to come rescue me…
Then again they rescuers will be encouraging me to go
to some kind of emergency shelter. This is the most
suicidal idea i think that i could and will hear !!
Id remember and ask myself “if everyone jumps off the bridge”
” Will I?”
Id be a freaking DUMB ASS if i said yes!
If everyone else is zombied, well that would suck…
and just me I have to repopulate the world with one of my
men in the milita group ive formed!
The main question is how long do zombies “live”?
This has never been answered or documented!!
To my knowledge. Even though they are dead,
they still maintain some kind of metabolism
and thought process, even though its not predictable.
I assume that they think and that eventually they’ll cease out all
activity and it will be safe enough to slowly venture out.
Id limit my excurions to daytime when i felt the danger has died
down..keepin in mind that this is a ZOMBIE ATTACK!
NOT a visit to seaworld,Im no Dumbass!
But then again they might be immortal,
in which case me and my milita group I formed are screwed.
It’s kinda hard to kill 6 trillion zombies with
with the ammuntion i have stored…however id promise on thing
Im taken out as many as i can……And in my last days of life
I would STOP blaming GOD!This wasnt his bad
Id BLAME the French!
In any case, I hope I’ve helped you in processing your
own zombie survival plan.

I live in the middle of what I would call a medium size city. It’s not freakin New York or anything but it’s a densely populated area. This will lead to problems which I will address later.
There are two scenarios which play out in my mind and I have plans for each. The first scenario is:
(A) The zombie outbreak has occurred elsewhere in the United States and is spreading quickly toward my city. The second scenario is:
(B) The zombie outbreak has begun in my city.
Let’s start with (A). The zombie outbreak is happening elsewhere in the U.S. which means I’ll learn about it and it’s effects through the media as it happens. This gives me more time to tweak my survival plan. I can only hope that it plays out this way, however, both scenarios will be difficult to deal with. I imagine most people will try to evacuate the city as the outbreak closes in on us. The main roads and highways will be crammed full of vehicles as they desperately try to leave. This is a mistake as most of those people will be sitting ducks once they are stuck in traffic a long way from home. They’ll either stay in their vehicles or abandon them and leave on foot, walking in a mass toward their destination along the highway (as if to say “Here we are! Come eat us!”). Needless to say, leaving the city by vehicle will be out of the question. For those who decide to hunker down in their homes, they will have to gather survival equipment and supplies. This means that all retail stores and grocery stores will be raided, looted, and/or taken over by rampant survivalists. All of these stores will be picked clean so there will be no hope of trying to gather any supplies (unless, of course, I’m one of the lucky ones who makes it there first!). Martial law will take over and riots between police, who are trying to keep the peace, and normal citizens will take over the streets. It won’t be pretty and something that I’ll have to keep in mind as I plan my survival.
Scenario (B) is what I hope does not happen. Everything will change overnight and catch everyone by surprise. The city will quickly become a murderous scene of violence and destruction. In this case, not only will I have to fend off zombies but also hysterical citizens who would do anything to live (even more so, I would assume, than those in Scenario (A) who will have time to see it coming and let the idea of a zombie outbreak really sink in before it reaches them). Eventually, people will understand what is happening and will try to leave the city in all directions by vehicle. It may be easier (and risky) to do that in this situation but the possibilities of destruction blocking roadways will still be there. It may be easier to loot stores, at this point, and still find supplies. However, people will kill to get what they need to survive. It’ll become a battle of the fittest.
As far as my survival plan for both scenarios:
I live in an apartment building on the 2nd floor. It’s pretty much downtown. It’s also a gated community. I would destroy both stairways leading to the second floor. I’d get a ladder to get to my apartment and use ropes to haul things up onto the second floor. By this point, I would have already been prepping for an outbreak. I’ll have plenty of food to set me for a while, or at least until the zombies have completely invaded. In the meantime, I’ll search for other survivors within my apartment complex and fortify the gates surrounding the complex and wipe out any remaining zombie within the complex. I only hope that there are other survivors who can help with this task. This may take weeks or months to completely do depending on the help I have. My food stockpile should last at least three months. At this point, I’ll have 3 main options:
1. Hunker down inside my apartment complex and try to survive there by making trips to local stores every once in a while to re-supply. With other survivors, assuming there are some, this wouldn’t be to bad. Strength in numbers. However, one mistake from one member of the group could have dire consequences for the group as a whole. This option is flawed simply because the quantity of supplies will run out quick from the surrounding areas. Eventually, we’d have to venture further and further to get our supplies. Sickness is another issue. Diseased ridden corpses all around us 24/7 would take it’s toll. We’d eventually fall apart.
2. As a group, or not, we make a run for it on foot and basically fight our way out of the city and into a more rural environment. The goal is to get somewhere far away from the heavy population. We’d load up on as much as we could carry. This option is flawed for obvious reasons. Our supplies would quickly evaporate. Ammo would be scarce and we’d have to resort to the use of blunt objects and blades, which means getting to close to the infected. This option is also heavily based around the idea of having a group of survivors something which may not happen. There are too many variables in this one to even consider as a valuable option.
3. This is the option I’m rooting for. My apartment complex is conveniently placed a few hundred feet from a major river that eventually feeds into the Gulf of Mexico. The idea is to acquire a boat or the means to make one. Basically, I’d load it up with as much equipment as possible, jump in and float on down the river. This would get me out of the city, at least, and into a more manageable environment. I’d have to be ready to re-load my supplies and venture back onto land at some point. But, this option seems to be the best for me. If possible I’d want to make it as far north as possible. Zombies may be slower and may even freeze in colder climates. Of course this brings into question a whole slew of new surviving tactics…
However, with all of these options and variables, I have to keep in mind that most stores will be picked clean. Of course, I’d check just to be sure but I know the longer I keep myself in a closed in building without knowing the back exit the quicker i’ll be trapped. I’ll have to be quick about everything I do. I may have to resort to hunting animals, fishing, and, eventually, if I find the right spot, farming.
I also have to keep in mind that, ultimately, I need to look after myself. Any survivor I cross, I’ll need to be suspicious of their motives. I hate to say it, but in a world of no law and order…”Trust no one.” If the survivors have something to offer…great. If not…move along. I won’t know if someone I come across might belong to a gang of asshole survivors roaming around pillaging and raping, taking what’s not theirs, and dominating through fear tactics. I’ll need to avoid these groups at all costs of course.
I also need to remember that I should use a gun or any other load object as a last ditch effort. The sound can travel for miles in a silent, dead world I’m sure. This will only attract more zombies. If I come across a cache of a shit-ton of ammo, I’ll need to not blow my wad and go out with guns blazing. No matter how many rounds I have they’ll keep coming. Move low, quickly, and quietly. I need to be a ninja.
Chances are that when the attack does come I will be at home,
And defending my home and family would be important.
First off I live right behind Greentown cemetery, in Greentown Ohio, so if they were ‘return of the living dead’ style zombies I would be screwed with lack of time.
I would board up the entire downstairs windows, and doors, best I could with tabletops, and bedroom doors, from the outside of the house first, killing the zombies as I saw them, with my hand gun, to the face. The more doors and windows boarded from the outside the better, I think, because boarding from the inside, the undead knock the nails out easier with there force. Of course I would have the side door kept open, to get back in afterwards; which leads me to the garage, where I would have the conversion van ready and stocked with canned foods, ammo, guns, blankets, beer (save the bottles for molto cocktails), and first aids kits, among a few containers of gas, in case of emergency.
After boarding up what is needed, I would raid the house of flashlights, and grab the hatchets from the garage. Then I would proceed upstairs to the bedrooms, and that would be the safe haven……for now.
The next few days, would be spent, assuming I have had survived those days, picking zombies off from the roof of the house with lawn chairs set up, some jamming tunes going, and a few 30 packs, and a couple bottles of Jameson.
Kind of just partying with my friends, having a blast killing off the undead, as if it was the last party we ever had. This would continue till supplies ran low. Then off to the van, fully ready to go………but by then, the zombies would have invaded the downstairs, and be on the there way up to the second floor for more flesh, kind of like the neighbors, they took out earlier that day.
To get to the van we would have to ‘hatchet’ through the roof, into the garage ceiling. Carefully jump down into the ceiling crawl space, then from there land in the garage, through the opening to the crawl space. There would be no zombies in the garage, for it was shut. So then after we all get in the van, open the door, and plow over anything in our way….and off we go.
Hitting up local sporting goods store, Kames, we break in looting fishing equipment, guns, and ammo. Of course I would change into some hunting gear too.
After that endeavor, we take the highway to Cleveland, Ohio, about an hour away, and hit up Lake Erie, avoiding downtown Cleveland as much as possible.
I would drive near the harbor, and try and find a livable fishing boat.
Carefully, but quickly load the gear from the van onto the boat, and cruise off into the Lake. We would live there off of fishing, and the canned goods we had, coming close to shore every now and then to see what was up with the city. Once it seemed like things were less chaotic, we would go back there for more supplies, and to find survivors.
Of course during all this maddness there would be a lot of shooting, just make sure you aim for the head.
This plan has been in the making for 8 years now. My friends and I have constantly replenished stockpiles of dry goods, canned foods, freezedried foods, medications (antibiotics, etc), first aid supplies, simple surgical supplies and other survival necessities.
While we do have guns, we also understand that ammo runs out. Quickly. Hence the need for well made axes, swords, bows, arrows and chainmail. Things like this have worked for thousands of years. It stands to reason that they would work again. Chemical explosives are also far more effective than bullets. That’s why each of us have specialties. An archer, a martial artist/ swordsman, our resident axe weilding barbarian, our weaponsmith, our chemical engineer and our physician/ survivalist.
There’s a large catholic high school on staten island, it provides us with shelter, and bridges as the only access to us. We shut down one bridge and use the other to cross over to mainland when we need to. Boats are an option as well, seeing as the common undead won’t be able to operate a watercraft. A forge can be built and our weaponsmith already has quite the supply of usable metal and plenty of knowledge/ experience making battle ready weapons and chainmail. I don’t care what kind of zombie you are, you’re not biting through chainmail.
We can survive for quite some time, and provide shelter for other survivors this way. Eight years in the making, with plenty of planning and training under our belts. When the zombies come, we’re ready.
my zombie plan is not a plan of if, it is when. Every day i lift weights and train my body for the time that will come; the need to work out and get used to common daily makeshift weapons is necessary. I have worked a sledge on concrete until a pile of concrete is dust, in times of a zompocalypse my usuage of a sledge will be as useful of a tool as other peoples’ usage of a regular hammer. My truck is usually loaded with tools and everything i will need.
I do have many zombie plans. In the case that i am anywhere near my home county I will head for one of the local maximum security prisons. (Auburn, NY = Maximum security prison). In the case of the zompocalypse, the prisoners will either be set free or let loose, leaving the prison empty. Within recent years prisons throughout new york have had solar power panals added to produce electricity, this means i will not be left in the cold and the dark. Also i will not have to go on any raids, because there is enough canned food in the prison stock to last me more than my entire life i will never starve to death; the prison water system has it’s own cleaning equipment so i will have a constant supply of clean water.
the prison has many armored busses, stockpiles of riot gear, guns, and all the survival equipment i could ever need.
now i know that at some point, someone reading this is wondering why i never said anything about getting into the prison… no, i am not going to get myself put there so that i could survive a zompocalypse, the front gate is a 15 foot tall metal fence. i can pull my truck up front and rope my way over the top (that’s part of why training upper body strength is so important.) leaving my truck outside is fine, i can get any of the tools i need through the fence, taking my time before i finally make my final pass around the area before i make my climb.
I am used to wearing chainmail and i currently make classic european 4 in 1 chainmail shirts.
That is my local zompocalypse plan; living in central NY i can make my way along the canals to any body of open water with relative ease, if for any reason i decide to get out of the area and scrap the prison plan I will take a sail boat, a 22footer, with a cabin and anchors. fishing and w
ater would be fine until i made it to the ocean, then i would hit the off shore oil rigs, raiding ports as i see fit. my ability to use a sledge and a few years of sword training will help in either plan.
weapons of choice:
katana
sledge
tools:
masonry hammer
crowbar
clawbar
Makeshift weapon:
flare gun w/ shotgun slells
quarter sticks and half sticks
my truck as a weapon.
hopefully i would have some reliable people involved in this plan to get my back and to keep me company.
Forget it.
I’m not even TRYING to compete against these entries. They’re all too good and too well thought out.
Besides, MY plan was going to work the other way around. It was going to be alllll about how us zombies would kick the crap outta you all….
But with all these well thought out plans that include Sam’s Club, leather and ninjas, we got a little nervous.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
