Dead Rising 2 for X360 AND PS3!

Dead Rising

The popular X360 exclusive Dead Rising is getting a sequel that will be available for X360 and the PlayStation 3. Capcom has set up a Los Angelos developer to encode Dead Rising 2.

Dead Rising was very popular game for X360 in it’s first year, being an exclusive to that console. People have been chomping at the bit for a sequel and for it to be available for other consoles.

Dead Rising dropped you in the middle of a mall surrounded by hundreds of zombies and allowed you to use anything that you could see - traffic cones, benches, plants, shovels, anything - to kill zombies.

There is no release date for Dead Rising 2, but I’d guess that any date set would not be soon enough for any console owner.

I know this news was announced early last year but there hasn’t been any word since. Do you have a source for this info.?

The news from last year was that it was in consideration, not production. As far as I know, nothing has been confirmed and Capcom has actually officially said that it is not in production but Inafune would love to do a sequel.

Well, I just read in the latest EGM that it’s still kind of a rumor but has been scooped by their “undead mole” that the game is being completely outsourced to an L.A. developer. Hmmm…I guess everything hinges on who the developer is. Without Capcom on the bill though, it could be a much different franchise.
