Brain Damage Films Release Another Direct-to-DVD Zombie Movie

Brain Damage Films, who have a knack for releasing cheaply and quickly made schlock, and have brought us the direct-to-DVD releases of Awaken the Dead , Swamp Zombies, Dead Life and the upcoming The Veil , have another zombie movie, Sabbath, coming out February 5th. Here’s the description of the movie, from Amazon:
When the last soul enters heaven and the first sinner is shut out of hell life as we know it will cease to exist. Geller runs for her life from the bloodthirsty zombies that seem to have over run her small town. For help during end times she turns to Mack (a criminal), two shady brothers and a faithless Reverend played by David Crawford (DAWN OF THE DEAD 78). Geller and her new friends are on the run from roving hoards of zombies, shadow demons and the Grim Reaper!
I’m all for cheap, fun zombie flicks (like Hard Rock Zombies or Flesh-Eater: Revenge of the Living Dead aka Zombie Nosh), but this just looks bad. There is something to say about quality, over quantity.

Talking about “quickly made” zombie movies, eh? These home grown enterprices tend to take a very long time to get off the ground. You mentioned The Veil – that piece of the Zombie Apocalypse took 4 years of shooting, with a total production time of 7 years from idea to release. It’s not like Brain Damage is funding these movies so that they can be made professionally, they just buy up the moviemakers hard work.
