New trailer for Day of the Dead DVD

Take a look:

I’ve heard they’ve been re-shooting scenes since their last trailer got big hairy negative reviews. I don’t really see that any of this has helped, but we won’t know till it comes out on April 8th.

Well, it’s still a “bad day to be a zombie,” but it’s also an improvement over the last trailer.

Of course, footage from a parasite-ridden crocodile’s colonoscopy would be an improvement over the last trailer.

So, is it someone’s goal just to remake all the Romero “Dead” movies but with running zombies? I kid – looks promising – I’m withholding judgment until I see it in person.

Doesn’t look so bad, Just not worthly of the Dead of the Day name.

Wow….I’m almost impressed. Looks like a pale imitation of an attempt at remaking Day. If the filmmakers are all a bunch of 20-something folks.
I would prefer to see someone adapt Romero’s original script, personally. But this almost looks interesting.
(Except the zombies are WAAAAY too fast…and jumping around like that? What’s going on with that?!)

Yeah, I don’t get these big zombie heaving jumps either. Uwe Boll did that to death (pardon the pun) in House of the Dead and it came off the same way – cheesy.

The original Day of the Dead script would make a fantastic movie for half the budget with what they could do in CGI these days. That was the problem right? Half the budget? Make a movie from a good script, not some candy-ass, quippy, palying to the 20 something crowd piece of shit PRODUCT! Where’s the art anymore?!

hmmm… well i’m not sure, does this make me want to punch babies more than the last trailer or more than House of the dead? uggghhhh…. i suppose i wouldn’t instantly hat it so much if it were released under another name. by releasing it under the existing name of day of the dead they are not doing anything but slandering that fine movie with this travesty of running zombies, oh wait- eff me- running JUMPING zombies. (i never write in aol speak or whatever, but) WTF? i mean really, did these writers not read the zombie survival guide? oh no, they didn’t, they were too busy writing Final effing Destination.

I’m sorry to everyone that has any arguement as to why this movie may not suck ass and not give a reach around, but i can honestly say, just by watching the preview that this movie is going to suck way more than dawn of the dead 2004. i know it’s just the miracles of movies, but the scene with the father that is in the bed and then all of a sudden he’s a zombie, with his face all falling apart? i know they’re zombies, so they have to look like zombies, but going from a pretty much all there body to a running jumping gold medal olympic athlete with their faces falling apart, but the rapid decay to falling apart zombie is just TOO unreal, and i know this is where all the “it’s only a movie and zombies aren’t real” people chime in, but i hate those people. i know it’s only a movie, so they should show some more realistic decay of the human body. and the zombies aren’t real people, why do they always end up on zombie related sites?

no. no. NO. i am okay with this movie, because of it’s straight to dvd release. this makes me so happy, because no one will see it. it’s not like they are going toflood the theaters to see this like they all did for that awful running zombie dawn of the dead movie and then instantly everyone was zombie movie fans. this movie is going to be so awful.

Why do people want to box Uwe Boll and not the people who make this movie?

Jef, you are right. there is no art anymore, they sink to the lowest common denominator and it makes money. 98% of the movie viewing public is too fucking stupid to appreciate a good zombie movie.

My grievance with the (mis-)use of the DotD title is that now people who have no clue will be able to say: “yeah, I saw that movie and it sucked”, when they only saw the so-called remake of the original classic. I’m not looking forward to these kinds of arguments with people (as has been the case with people who say the Dawn remake).

While I’m NOT going to trash this one before I actually see it for myself (and then I’m still going to try to be fair and balanced) the make-up looks really over-the-top for me. What were they thinking with the sudden transformation from sick person to latex monster?

The running and jumping zombies I’m not even going to comment on. (You’ll just have to learn some Swedish and some patience and wait for my review.)

I have seen this poor excuse of a re-make, if it really is a ‘re-make’ of GAR’s classic. Did these amateur muppet movie makers actually see the original? Nothing like it all ! OH WAIT JUST A MINUTE, I think they meant ‘Day of the Dead 2 Contagium’ re-make. Well then, that explains everything………Case Closed…….:)
