Day of the Dead Remake DVD April 8th

Well, it looks like the Day of the Dead remake is going to be a straight to DVD release. UHM has it that the release date will be April 8th, 2008.
You may have seen the trailer on YouTube and it’s rumored that since the trailer’s release was so negatively received, the film-makers went back and reshot some of the footage. In my opinion, it looked pretty bad. This quite possibly could be due to the fact that the folks behind the remake are the same folks behind Day of the Dead 2: Contagium and Creepshow III. I’ve only read horrible crap about Creepshow III, but I’ve seen Day of the Dead 2: Contagium, if these movies are any kind of example of what’s to come from the Day of the Dead remake then it won’t be worth watching, let alone paying anything see it. This company, Taurus Entertainment, seem to have an M.O. that consists of buying recognizable titles just so they can make really low-budget, low quality movies that have nothing to do with the original so they can make a the meager amount of cash from small sales, mostly to unwitting video stores, based on name alone.
On the other hand, this movie has a lot more recognizable names than their other tanker releases, so maybe there’s more being put into this release. I guess we’ll see on the 8th of April. I’ll try to let you know ASAP so you can spend you hard earned cash on something more worthwhile, like using it as toilet paper. Until then, feel free to read how I felt about the other movie that was a product of Taurus Entertainments acquisition of the Day of the Dead title, Day of the Dead 2: Contagium.

wow. all i can say is “wow” that was so fucking awful words have not been made for how bad and wrong that was, can we officially use the word “badong”.
we should find these guys and make them stop what they’re doing.
I for one actually think that this will be one of the better zombie releases fpr 2008… Not that that’s saying much, but anyways.
I haven’t seen it and neither have you. How the hell do you know it’s so bad? What the hell is with all the negative reviews? The trailer looks just fine to me.
I haven’t seen a single specific reason why this movie sucks. It just seems to me like people are just writing bad comments because everyone is doing it… and if everyone is jumping off a cliff these same people will no doubt go and jump off a cliff.
I’m not saying this movie will be good or that it won’t suck. I’m saying I haven’t seen it but the trailer looks just fine to me. In fact, the trailer looks like a big budget theatrical material to me. Thanks a lot, morons (those who have been blindingly giving bad reviews). Regardless, if it sucks it can’t possibly suck more than Vampire In Brooklyn with Eddie Murphy, and that piece of fecal matter had a theatrical release.
Well I have seen it and it is pretty bad lol. I’ve seen the screener and it is actually a pretty pointless movie in my opinion. I mean there is no real build up to the infection spread and then there are moments where you go “hmmmmmmm.” Like when a zombie defies gravity and crawls on the ceiling for a few seconds. Characters are not developed at all and in the end it is a basic zombie flick. Meh.
However, I should point out that originally the trailer and screening did get bad reviews. In fact it was reportedly so bad that there was a reshoot and possibly added scenes to the movie. That is why there are so many negative comments and reviews surrounding this film. The trailer you are referring to is the new and improved version. ;)
Whatever, see it, love it, hate it…just a zombie movie that isn’t new or that interesting. :)
If anyones looking forward to seeing this and thinking/hoping its a re-make of the original Romero classic then think/hope again. The only thing that connects both films is some character names ‘borrowed’ from the original and THATS ALL. If you LIKE DayOTD2Contagium then you will LOVE this movie :) because I see this film being more a Contagium re-make than anything else and thats backed up that some crew members were also involved with Contagium. Despite the films flaws, the movie title & being branded a re-make, its not that bad considering whats out there at the moment. Interesting viewing, some good effects/gore and thats it. 6/10
i have already got this movie and i am telling you it is f*****g brilliant one of the best zombie films that i have seen
The cover makes it look stupid as well. Ripping of a key quote from resident evil and using it as your tagline is pretty lame too. I have’nt seen it but have been eagerly awaiting the release. If it turns out to be like dotd2 contagium, i’m gonna have to shoot somebody. Who the fuck supplies money for these jackoffs to make more and more pitiful movies? I see one more zombie movie where the blood is pink and foamy and i may have to blow up a building or something. I would actually rather see a zombie movie made with 10″ inch action figures than the swill they have been feeding us. So i am making one. Keep an eye out for “Live your Death”. Coming summer 2008……….
This was part of my first installment of zombie movie marathon. Definitely a great remake of a classic Romero film. Not quite up to par with the remake of Dawn of the Dead, but visually appealing and gory. My log of zombie movie mania is still in its infancy, but I can’t image many of the newer zombie films coming close to being as good as this one.
