I Am Legend - Is it a Zombie Movie?

I’ve had several people ask me why the ZRC hasn’t talked about I Am Legend yet. Personally, I don’t really consider it a zombie movie. Zombie-esque, sure. But not a real zombie movie. What do you think? We want the Zombie Reporting Center to be a community resource, so what do you, our readers, think? Is I Am Legend a zombie movie? Let us know in the comments!

It’s not. It’s not even a movie really,… more of a documentary.
I think it’s not a zombie movie, but a vampire one, but to be honest, it’s about the end of the world, so it’s right up the zombie movie interests anyway.
They’re vampires! At least, they are in the original book. And they’re UV sensitive. And he’s always chucking water about (holy water sez my other half; I thought it was bleach to cover tracks), plus the lady has a crucifix hanging from her rearview. And they live in the dark.
Not zombies at all. Which is a pity.
Depends on your definition. I also think White Zombie and 28 Days Later are debatable, and you’ve got both of those up.
They’re not zombies, undead, yes, but not zombies. 28 Days Later may be debatable, but I Am Legend is surely not. The only thing I could think of to debate was that George Romero found The Last Man On Earth (the original screen adaption of Matheson’s book “I Am Legend”) to be an inspiration for Night Of The Living Dead, but that’s really reaching.
No.
not zombies.
the comment about white zombie… those are real zombies, voodoo zombies which is where the idea of the zombies we discuss came from.
vampires maybe.
Not zombies, or even undead. They’re more along the lines of vampiric.
the movie is not ment to be about vampires or zombies there just normal people who got affected by what ever and got a lil a (LOT) of defection lol i dotesed some fishy things in the first scence when the dog puts her head out of the window the dog kinda looks fake and if u see the first defected person that same one is in all of the movie like they all look the same a bit odd?
