House of the Dead confirmed for Nintendo Wii

House of the Dead

House of the Dead was a great arcade game, not such a great movie, but fortunately the powers at Sega had the good sense to try resurrecting the title on the Nintendo Wii. In what is certain to be a confusing title, House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return will be “revamped for today’s gamer looking for fast-paced shooting action”, according to a spokesperson. Hopefully the graphics will be re-vamped as well, as the old House of the Dead game looks rather fugly compared to today’s games.

Living With the Dead Comic Mini-Series

Living With the Dead #2, from Dark Horse, is out this week at your favorite local comic shop. It’s a funny three part series about two poor un-undead guys, Straw and Whip, surrounded by the living dead. It’s written by Mask creator Mike Richardson, with art by Ben Stenbeck and awesome covers by underground illustrator Richard Corben (Hellboy: Makoma, Heavy Metal). A quick description from the TFAW website:

Two survivors of a global catastrophe disguise themselves as corpses to survive in a land of the walking dead.

Soon the two friends save a lovely young gun-crazy woman named Betty, who becomes a source of rivalry between them. With hundreds of zombies out for a snack, the three try their best to blend in so as not become the next item on the menu.

LWTD #3 will be out in December, with the trade collection following in January.

Zombies Ate My Prom Date Trailer

Triple Trouble Films have a new movie in production called Zombies Ate My Prom Date. It’s like The Breakfast Club …but with zombies. The trailer’s decent, but doesn’t offer much for action, gore or suspense. Watch it for yourself here or here and tell us your thoughts on it.

Resident Evil Zombie Repellent: Cool Zombie T-Shirt #10

Zombie Repllent

I don’t know if it’s as much as a zombie repellent as it is a zombie exterminator, but this Zombie Repellent t-shirt from Think Geek is pretty cool. It’s actually a Resident Evil product (there is a picture of some shotgun shells and a Resident Evil logo on the back). Thanks George for the link!

Another Zombie Walk World Record Attempt

Zombie Walk Detroit

What’s better than 1,124 zombies? 1,125 zombies of course! A new attempt is being made to break the zombie walk world record set just weeks ago in Pittsburgh. The organizers are filming the zombies for a movie (Invasion of the Not Quite Dead) and there is a charity event associated with the zombie walk. They are planning on having enough makeup and blood for up to 2,000 people! The event will take place on November 21st in Cardiff, Wales at the Jumping Jaks nightclub.
