Diary of the Dead Gets Sequel Treatment

Diary of the Dead

It hasn’t even been released yet, but Diary of the Dead has already gotten the green light for a sequel! The sequel, which won’t begin shooting until next year, will follow the survivors of the first film as they escape to an island. Let’s hope that the survivors on this island spend their time hunting zombies instead of completing challenges and voting people off :)

Zombies Infect Halo 3

Halo 3

Today only, as a special treat for Halloween, Halo 3 players on XBox Live will be able to play a special version of the game that simulates a zombie attack. Players start the game as either humans or zombies, and as the humans are killed they become members of the zombie team. Sounds like fun if you’re stuck at home passing out candy.

5 Scientific Reasons a Zombie Apocalypse Could Actually Happen

Scientist

As a kid I always remembered Cracked Magazine being a poor-man’s Mad. As such, I was somewhat surprised to find out that Cracked not only still existed but also has a website. This week they posted a list of 5 Scientific Reasons a Zombie Apocalypse Could Actually Happen. The science is pretty weak, but it’s a fun read for Halloween.

Horror Directors/Actors Sound Off on Surviving a Zombie Attack

Sam Raimi

MTV News asked several famous horror movie directors and actors what they would do in a zombie attack and what they have learned from zombie movies. Responses are surprisingly varied, and it’s clear that Quentin Tarantino likes his zombies the old-school way.

Capcom and Sony Pictures to make CGI Resident Evil Film

Resident Evil 3

Capcom sent out a press release late yesterday announcing a new joint project with Sony Pictures Entertainment to produce an entirely computer-animated Resident Evil movie. No real details were given, other than that it would be a 2008 release. As usual, the ZRC will keep an eye on this and let you know about any breaking news!

Magic City Zombie Walk

Baby Zombie!!!

Go check out this article, complete with photos and video, from the first ever zombie walk in Billings, Montana. Best quote from article:

Josi Cain, who will turn 21 in a few weeks, came as a corporate zombie, complete with a pencil sticking out of her jugular vein. “I’m too old to trick-or-treat and too young to go to the bars,” Cain said. “So it’s a good reason to dress up.”

We here at the ZRC love the concept of the zombie walk and think it’s great that they are happening everywhere.
