Ann Arbor Zombie Walk Part II

Zombie Jef Porkins

Michigan sure is hopping (or should I say slowly shuffling?) with zombie walks lately.  Last month, we covered the Punk Week Zombie Walk in Ann Arbor, later this month is the Detroit Zombie Walk, and in a little over a week and a half is a second Ann Arbor Zombie Walk.  There is no official website, other than a message I recieved and a post over on the zombie walk forums.  Here is the info:

OK, September 23rd at 6pm in Ann Arbor will be my Zombie Walk. Its Free! Walk will start probably around 6:30pm. Meet up at The Diag, which is a open little area right next to a coffie shop and right across from Randez-Vous Cafe. This is located on E. University Ave. and S. University Ave. The Address for the Rendez-Vous Cafe if this helps you locate the area on a map or create driving directions is 1110 S. University Ave. Ann Arbor, Mi. 48104. If you see the living dead shambling around in groups, you’ve probably found the right spot. On the weekends parking is FREE so you can park anywhere available to you to park in Ann Arbor. There are some parking structures you can locate them on google’s map. Contact me if you need information: spiderbite79@hotmail.com or myspace.com/spiderbite79. Please come in costume. Rules and route information will be given to you when you arrive before the walk starts. Hope to see you there.

I don’t really have a web page made for this walk, but my myspace page has the flier under the last blog I entered regarding the event.

    Here is the flier:

Anyone interested in coming to the walk and has questions can contact me. I would have had more done for this but alot was possibly happening on this day around the walk which didn’t coem through or changed days, and I had to wait to pinpoint a time and location. Regardless, I hope to see some gored up ladies and ghouls next Sunday. I’m glad Michigan is having walks. Maybe next year we can try to organize the walks and try to beat Pittsburgh with the amount of zombies gathered for one walk. Which is hard, but I think theres enough of us out there.

    The dead shall walk…

On 10/26/2008 there will be another Ann Arbor Zombie Walk. In Participation with Pittsburgh, PA. Ann Arbor will be having a Zombie Walk and Food Drive. This is to help celebrate the 40th anniversary of Night of the Living Dead and to celebrate World Zombie Day. There are 50 cities all over the world participating in this event and because of this we may get a chance to be entered into the Guinness World Book Of Records. The Walk is still FREE, but people are asked to bring non-perishable food donations to the walk. All donations will be given to Ann Arbor’s food bank Food Gathers. They will have a truck parked at the event for donations, so please come out and donate food to help the hungry even if your not going to participate in the walk. The meeting place will be in the same location as last year on S. University St. By Cafe Royal. People need to show up before walk starts to sign in for the walk and to drop off food donations. Walk will hopefully start around 6pm. All names signed in will be mailed to Pittsburgh, PA. so they can submit the complete international total for the zombie walks held that day. There will hopefully be some prizes to give out at the walk for best zombie outfits, and most food donated. I am working on those. Fliers will be done asap. If you are interested, or have any questions or comments please contact me at either spiderbite79@hotmail.com or at http://www.myspace.com/zombiewalka2.
