Diary of the Dead Screening in Toronto!

4.jpgtiff07logoheroindustry.png

George A. Romero’s Diary of the Dead will have a screening at the Toronto International Film Festival, as part of the their Midnight Madness film programme, on Sautrday September 8th at midnight. The cheapest ticket package runs about $100, which includes all of the Midnight Madnss films. Variety’s Festival Shootout had this quote from Romero:

“It’s not a sequel or a remake, it’s a whole new beginning for the dead,” said Romero, who directed and penned the script. “I’m honored to have it premiere at the Toronto Intl. Film Festival.”

There is still no wide or limited release date for this film, but we’ll defintely keep you up to date on it. If any of our readers attend this screening, please drop us an e-mail at submissions@zombiereportingcenter.com with your thoughts.

Living Dead Glasgow

Living Dead Glasgow

Now this is true DIY spirit!  Webmaster Alan Simpson was fed up with trying to get a zombie movie made in his home town of Glasgow, Scotland so he did the next best thing – made a comic book and founded a publishing company to put it out.  The comic book is called Living Dead Glasgow and you can check out the first few pages here.  The book also contains a strip called “Bad Dog” and a chronological overview of modern zombie films.

We hope to be getting a review copy soon – come visit us again and check out the full review.

Nothing can stop Zombie Jesus!

Zombie Jesus

I just happened upon this completely hilarious entry in Uncyclopedia for Zombie Jesus and just about wet myself laughing.  Just read this description:

After dying, Jesus was raised from the dead and once more walked among the living. This, of course, would only be possible if he were a zombie; Zombie Jesus is the identity of Jesus following the Resurrection. In zombie form, Jesus retained his unending love for mankind, in particular, he loved their sweet, delectable brains.

They also talk about Zombie Easter, during which “people put up decorations of the Zombie Easter Bunny”.  A few years back my friend Marty dressed up as a zombie bunny for a zombie walk.  I wonder if he already knew about Zombie Easter…

28 Months Later?

28 Weeks LaterOn his recent press tour, Danny Boyle (Director/Producer of the 28 Days Later series) revealed some of his thoughts for the next installment in the franchise:

“I did have this other idea,” Boyle said. “I don’t know whether it’ll happen or not…the third idea has more to do with Russia but that’s all I can say.”

Could this mean there will be a third movie in the series?

Flight of the Living Dead on DVD

fotlddvdart.jpg

Flight of the Living Dead will be released on DVD on Ocotber 2 from New Line Home Entertainment. DVD includes:

  • Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround
  • Feature commentary with director Scott Thomas and producer David Shoshan
  • Gag reel

We all know that this film won’t break any new ground, but it will hopefully make for a hell of a gorefest. It’s a zombie outbreak at 30,000 feet! I’m geeked! Here’s a quick overview of the story:

-scientist sneaks infected corpse on plane, plane hits turbelence, corpse breaks loose, government refuses to let plane land, hilarity and chaos ensue
