 With all the talk of Zombie Jesus lately, I was sure he would pop up again. This was found while scouring tons of photos from this last weekend’s San Diego Comic Con. After looking a close to 1000 photos, I’m not 100% sure where this photo was linked from. Still cool though…I DIED FOR YOUR SINS…BRAINS!!!
We’ve added a new zombie movie to our ever-growing ZRC Zombie Movie Database – Awaken the Dead. This movie looks to be equal parts thriller, comedy and zombie-slaying action flick and features a killer priest in search of redemption.
I have to admit, upon first glance at the website, this looked like just another low-budget schlock fest, but after watching the trailer and viewing some of the production stills it’s clear there are some solid production values and good direction going on here. The zombies in the trailer actually look frightening, which is already better than I can say for a lot of direct to DVD zombie films.

If you haven’t seen the board game Zombies!!! it’s worth checking out. I met the artist Dave Aikins a few years ago at the Motor City Comic Con and he autographed the inside of the box for me and drew me this sweet picture of a zombie smoking:

The new zombie comic Crawl Space: Xxxombies will be out  October 24th, from Image . I’m really looking forward to this book, especially after just reading a handfull of very boring zombie comics (reviews to come). It’s by Rick Remender and Kieron Dwyer. Here’s a synopses of the plot:
The first arc, the four-issue “XXXombies,” promises to be the last word in the zombiesploitation with its twisted tale of sex stars, cannibalism and the ’70s. Our story’s focus is a sleazy producer who has gathered a bevy of adult stars for a weekend film shoot. When they emerge, they discover a zombie plague has overrun a now-quarantied Los Angeles. The results are unlike any previous tale of the undead, especially with Rick and Kieron’s special guest collaborator – Tony Moore, the original artist of THE WALKING DEAD.
Capcom has released this much better trailer showing actual gameplay footage of Resident Evil 5. It looks to be similar to the control first used in Resident Evil 4, which is a good thing because that game ROCKED!

This awesome Invincible zombie is by Ryan Ottley, the artist of the on-going Image series, written by Walking Dead/ Marvel Zombies scribe Robert Kirkman. Also, check out the pencils, the illo half done and, as a bonus, zombie Superman and zombie Batman.
Todd Bridges, kid star of the 80’s sitcom Diff’rent Strokes, stars in Dawn of the Living Dead, which is being re-released (this was released last year under the title Evil Grave: Curse of the Maya) on DVD August 7th. I’m holding out for some more really good zombie films this year, but I doubt this will be one of them. The plot outline sounds like a bad Outer Limits 90’s-version episode:
Renee and her fiancé Jeffrey move into what they believe is a quiet, unassuming house in the desert of southern California. What they soon find out, however, is that a mass murder occurred on these grounds, leaving a family of undead to walk the earth.
I would say look for a review of this DVD soon, but honestly, I am never going to watch this.
The Zombie Jesus post from Monday got me thinking about this giant statue I passed a few times along I-75 in Ohio. I always thought it looked like a giant zombie Jesus rising from the grave!
