More Michigan Zombie Movies…

Cold Dead Hands

This summer Michigan is host to several zombie movie productions.  We recently reported on Buddy Holly vs. The Living Dead and we recently found Cold Dead Hands – a production currently filming in the Metro Detroit area.  According to their myspace profile they are currently looking for cast and crew, so if you are in the area it might be worth your while to check them out.

Zombies by Mail

Zombie Computer Administrator

Monster by Mail announced their latest theme, Summer of the Undead.  The service allows people to order custom art pieces by mail.  Here’s how it works: You send them a name for your zombie, they draw it and send it to you in a few days.  Pretty cool and it only costs $20 for an original zombie drawing!

Pittsburgh ZombieFest 2007

Pittsburgh ZombieFest 2007

An “unconventional convention” of World Guinness proportions will be held this year as Pittsburgh will play host to ZombieFest 2007.  Featuring two days of films, demonstrations, vendors and a Zombie Ball, the big event has got to a world record attempt zombie walk held at Monroeville Mall – the same mall used in the original Dawn of the Dead!

Last year a world record 894 zombies showed up for the walk and this year the organizers are hoping to break that record.

Re-Animator news update

Producer Brian Yuzna House of Re-Animator is supposedly looking for investment in the fourth film in the Re-Animator series, House of Re-Animator.  He’s got all the parties on-board, including original director Stuart Gordong, Jeffery Combs repeating his performance, and William H. Macy as the President of the United States.  House of Re-Animator’s plot has Dr. West being rushed to the White House to re-animate the recently deceased vice president and is scheduled for a 2008 release.

Promicin

On a related note, season four of The 4400 started up last night, and I realized I had totally missed a link between the show and Re-Animator!  Jeffery Combs plays Kevin Burkoff, a scientist who develops an artificial version of Promicin (a drug used in the show to give people special powers).  As an homage to his role as Dr. West, the promicin, as shown in the television program, has a bright yellow-greenish glow!  I never put the two together until last night.

Ok I apologize for geeking out for a few minutes and now return you to your regularly scheduled blogging.

Touch the Dead

Game Informer has a very thorough review of Touch the Dead, for the Nintendo DS, here. This is a great line from their review:

What you would imagine to be headshot city is, in reality, the most challenging zombie game to come along in quite some time.
