Although it didn’t make our list of Top 5 Zombie Video Games, Typing of the Dead for the Sega Dreamcast was one of the more unusual video games ever released. The premise was much the same as House of the Dead - an on-rails shooter where you need to shoot all the zombies in a creepy mansion, but instead of using a light gun to shoot them, you “shoot” them by typing out words and sentences on a keyboard.

No doubt it wasn’t very popular, but it was popular enough in Japan that they are getting a sequel. Unfortunately there are no plans to release it in the US (yet… we can always hope). Check out the game in this video:
