Introducing the Zombie Arcade!

The ZRC works hard to provide you information on the coming zombie plague. But when we’re not doing that, you can usually find us kicking back playing some video games. We’ve started up an arcade of flash zombie games you can play in your free time. Click on the link at the top of the page or just go directly to the arcade. We’ll be adding in more games soon so check back often!

Zombie flash game

Boxheads

This game has been taking up my free time lately. It’s a free flash game where you try to kill zombies as they attack from every angle. You get weapon upgrades along the way, but the zombies never stop. Eventually, you WILL die. There is no way to beat the game – the best you can do is last as long as you can. It’s addicting as all hell.

UPDATE: This game is now available for play in our Zombie Arcade.

Zombie Infestation Simulator

Zombie Simulation

I just ran across this interesting Java app today – it’s a zombie infection simulation. It attempts to mimic a real-world zombie infection with zombies attacking humans, humans killing zombies, and how the layout of a city would affect that. Fun to play around with.

Night of the Living Dorks

Night of the Living Dorks

Die Nacht Der Lebenden Loser (English title: Night of the Living Dorks) is a German zombie comedy along the lines of Shaun of the Dead meets American Pie. The US DVD release is slated for February 20. Until then you can check a few reviews: 1 2 3
As a side note, is the German word for “dork” really “loser”? Hilarious!

Zombie Farm Animals – brought to you by SCIENCE!

Cloned Cow

Scientists are looking for ways to zombify livestock so they are more docile and oblivious to their confinement. One scientist notes that in the future it may be possible to create “animal vegetables”. One question remains: will the zombie cattle’s inevitable hunger for brains cause wide-spread mad cow disease?

Left 4 Dead – zombie survival videogame

Left 4 Dead

The developers of the the successful Counter Strike: Condition Zero game have a new project on the horizon: Left 4 Dead. Developed with multiplayer in mind, it will focus on a small group of people trying to survive a zombie apocalypse. Players will share ammo and resources with each other, while other players will be able to play as zombie characters, thwarting the humans’ every move.
No release date yet, but supposedly it will be available later this year.
