Poultrygeist! Night of the Chicken Dead

Looks like Troma films is already hard at work cashing on yesterday’s news story about zombie chickens.  Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to introduce Poultrygeist! Night of the Chicken Dead.

The film seems to stay with the Troma signature horror/comedy/musical style. Zombie chickens rise from the dead when a fast-food chicken joint is built on top of an ancient indian burial ground. I really don’t need to say any more and I’m really looking forward to seeing this movie next year.

MobZombies

MobZombies Startup Screen

MobZombies is a game that uses a small computer and motion sensors to put you in a game where the goal is to survive a zombie attack.

The game’s sensors keep track of the player’s physical location and map it onto the screen of the computer. The player can run away from the zombies and set bomb traps, but the real challenge comes in negotiating the physical world while trying escape zombies in a virtual world. Very cool idea, though at this point it’s not a commercially available product.

Zombie Chickens terrorizing farms

Zombie Chicken

I had to create a new category for today’s news piece. The Associated Press is reporting on the issue of Zombie Chickens. Yes, you heard that right. Apparently, chickens raised for egg-laying who have out-lived their usefulness are euthanized and thrown in the compost pile. Some of these chickens end up surviving the process and emerge from the pile of carcasses like hungry zombie chickens, forever doomed to walk the earth…
