Zombies vs. The City of Minneapolis

Brains!

This past July, 7 participants in a zombie walk were arrested by Minneapolis police for “simulating weapons of mass destruction”. Police found “wires” coming out of some of their backpacks which they claim resembled bombs. These wires in fact turned out to be headphone cables. (Haven’t they seen how popular iPods have become?)

The zombies are now striking back, sticking the city with a $50,000 lawsuit. The plaintiffs claim they were merely trying to “satirize contemporary commercial culture” - which I guess explains the $50,000 lawsuit.

Poster art revealed for Diary of the Dead

Diary of the Dead

Fangoria is reporting that the first poster for George Romero’s upcoming Diary of the Dead was released this week at the American Film Market. The movie follows a young filmmaker and his friends as a zombie outbreak occurs during the filming of a horror movie. The group quickly abandons the film and begins documenting the attack, all while trying to save themselves…
This plot reminds me of the “Lost Tapes” on the extra features of the Dawn of the Dead (remake) DVD. This vignette features Andy, the gun shop owner, documenting his experiences with the zombie attack. If you haven’t seen it, it’s worth checking out.

I wonder what’s going on with Diamond Dead… (apparently “not much”)

Rob Zombie lists Top 5 Zombie Movies

Rob Zombie

Rob Zombie recently took some time to talk with AntiMusic.com about his favorite zombie movies.  Predictably, White Zombie took the number one spot, with Night of the Living Dead, I walked with a Zombie, Dawn of the Dead (original), and Zombie Lake rounding out the rest of his list.
